Now that the residencies are done, life is quieter. Life is not so rushed, and the sewing classes have tapered off for a few weeks. Today, is the first day of a 2 day rigid heddle workshop. We will work 6 hours today, and the students will take their looms home and work on their weaving, then we will return on Wed and finish the workshop. Hopefully, they will be ready to remove their project from the loom, and we will re-dress the loom. It’s so helpful to go through the process as many times as possible in a brief period of time.
The contract is due today on my solo exhibit in Sept. It should be accompanied by 10 pics. This is nerve wracking. IDK if the package will be ready.
The studio is busy. We have several new weaving students. On the looms is 8 harness pinwheel, summer and winter, plain weave, and rag placemats and runners. One student is working on a mohair shawl out of custom dyed mohair.
