shawls and work on exhibit at The Visual Art Center of Richmond!

25 06 2010

We are still working on the shawls in the weaving studio. I have completed 2 summer silk shawls, and they are at Crossroads Art Center for sale! One is plain weave, raw silk warp with an all natural eyelash weft. The other is the raw silk warp, and the all natural eyelash weft, but in an all-over huck pattern. Both are natural in color, and very light for breezy summer evenings. Believe it or not, we had a nice cool evening last night, after a record-breaking 102 degree day!

“G” is working on the blue shawl, for a loved one in a retirement home, and “B” is working on the beautiful peruvian, baby alpaca, shawl.  Pics of these two items are below;0)

Also, The Visual Art Center of Richmond is having it’s annual Faculty Show. The opening is tonight (June 25, 2010). One large wet-felted wall-hanging of mine is in the show. Hope you will come and see it, as well as support the Visual Art Center and it’s talented faculty. I’m looking forward to going to the opening tonight. See you there;0)
