Weaving – Intro to the Floor loom

You’ve always wanted to weave, but the concept of setting up the loom seems overwhelming! No problem, teaching you to enjoy the process of setting up the loom is my specialty. In this weekend workshop, students will learn to set up the loom, weave off a scarf, rag rug, or mohair throw. Instructional hours are Saturday from 9 am – 2 pm, (break from 2-4), 4pm – 6 pm and the studio is open for open studio hours until 10 pm on Saturday night. Sunday workshop hours are 10 am – 2 pm.

Students will workshop looms, table looms or otherwise portable floor looms are welcome to bring their own looms. Please send photos of loom to insure that you have a floor loom prior to registration. This workshop is not for bringing your loom up to weaving capabilities, but for using a loom that is already in working order.

Workshop Fee: $300

Materials fee: $70 Standard (rug or scarf)

$100 premium (mohair throw)

Private weaving lessons are available by appointment. My hourly rate is $50 and my students come to my home/studio and we go through the process. The students then translate what they have done in their lesson at my studio at their own home during the week.

Full days are bookable to help you set up your loom at your home/studio. Daily rate is $300/day, up to 8 hours.
